Because there are two kinds of copper stranded wire, hard copper stranded wire and soft copper stranded wire. The two are very different, and the use is not the same.
Copper strand hardness, high tensile strength, high hardness, is made of copper through drawing and cold processing. Soft copper strand is formed by heating the residue on the basis of hard copper strand. Compared with hard copper strand, it is soft and elastic and can be bent.
According to the different characteristics of hard copper strand and soft copper strand, it is used in different fields. Because of its strong tensile strength, low resistance and good electrical conductivity, hard copper stranded wire is often used in places with high tension requirements, such as distribution lines, building wires, overhead transmission cables and so on. Soft copper strand is usually thinner than hard copper strand and has high electrical conductivity and toughness. Household wires are often seen, and are also suitable for motors, as conductors for power cables and communication equipment.

There is not much difference in function between hard copper strand and soft copper strand. Vendors with no application experience can easily overlook the difference. If you choose the wrong one, it can cause a lot of damage. So be sure to understand the features and which one is more suitable for the application.
Application fields of hard and soft copper stranded wire:
(1) Hard copper stranded wire: hard copper stranded wire due to strong tensile strength, low resistance, good conductivity, often used in places that need to conduct electricity and have high tension requirements, such as distribution lines and conductors of buildings, and cables for transmission in oral attack.
(2) Soft copper stranded wire: common household electrical wires, but also suitable for motors, as a conductor of power cables and communication equipment. The soft specifications of copper stranded wire are 15-7φ5.12-7φ5.9-7φ5 and so on. Taking 15-7φ5 as an example, 5 represents a steel wire with a nominal diameter of 1.7mm, 7φ5 represents 7 such steel wires to form a strand, and 15 represents 15 such steel wires to form a bundle of rebar. It basically means "a bundle of 15 7-inch steel wires (each wire has a total diameter of 5 mm)."
